About Vanessa Helmick's Fiore Home

The store serves those who like our aesthetic but don’t necessarily have a project that needs an interior designer. From sofas to lighting to dining tables to rugs-it’s our style available to everyone.

Our design firm takes a select number of projects per year. We are a team of 4.

Most of our projects usually fall into one of the these categories

  • Full Service Interiors without construction: furniture, paint, rugs, art, some custom millwork, and hopefully wallpaper. We have an established, collaborative process that starts with space planning and design, progresses to sourcing and coordinating, and ends with full service installation of your dream space.

  • Interiors for custom new build homes and full scale remodels

For new construction and remodel projects, we partner with clients and their contractor to establish a clear vision and execute it within the constraints of time and budget. The process is similar to our full service design projects, but much more involved as we collaborate with contractors and subcontractors as needed and make constant site visits to track progress. We plan, select, source, and install each piece of the design, resulting in the turnkey home of your dreams.

  • Builders, Developers, Architects who have designed the home but need an interior designer to handle the furnishings, rugs, lighting, art, etc to complete a magazine worthy space.

  • Distance or Virtual design is available for select projects. We do work nationally but that depends on current health environments.

About Vanessa Helmick

I started in interiors out of curiosity and chance. I worked in an art gallery in my younger days, taking cultural anthropology classes because I loved (and still love) international travel and the many different cultures on this earth. I ended up switching to an interior design program at Orange Coast College in Southern California and never looked back. I was lucky enough to work in interior design from 2005ish to 2010 in orange county, CA and Los Angeles. I moved to Maine in 2010 to see why my parents loved it here so much and am now raising a daughter and puppies in beautiful Yarmouth.

Organic Modern is my jam. I grew up in northern CA around pine trees and mountains and my favorite place in Maine is Mackworth island. It reminds me of my childhood as it encompasses all the things I love to this day. My work is unpretentious, inspired by the natural environment, down to earth, and textured. Modern but warm, prioritizing durability and practicality.

I couldn’t really find exactly what I wanted in Portland so I opened my own retail store in 2016 as a sister company to my design firm. This year we moved to Yarmouth, with water views, lots of trees and plenty of parking. All of my favorite things.
