About Hilary B. Photography

People and photography have been a mainstay in my life since my own family began the process of documenting their lives, and sharing their photographic memories and pictures for future generations. I have the fondest of memories of sorting through my grandparents old photographs and carefully leather bound albums, from the black and white staged portraits of generations past, to the faded color snapshots and candids of my childhood.

My family has influenced me to explore the world, as they once did, teaching me an acceptance and sensitivity of our cultural differences. Additionally, my grandfather, Dan Sanborn, a photographer and journalist, inspired me to learn the art and craft of photography.

I continued my interest as a photographer, graduating with honors, and a BFA in Photography, from SCAD, the Savannah College of Art & Design, in Savannah Ga.

Since then, I have been working professionally in New England as an analog film and digital photographer for almost 20 years, including establishing Hilary B. Photography in 2008.

Finally, my husband Beren, our Golden doodle Charlie and daughter Helena, have given me further support and inspiration to see the world through the eyes of a child.

Currently loving on Kodak films, and expanding a body of travel inspired personal work for the newly created fine art print shop. Also, volunteering and giving towards a more equitable community and renovating our lil Rhody ranch, when at home in Rhode Island. Tell me what are you loving on and working towards right now?

I seek what inspires me. I see to know. Hilary B.
