Maine Crafts Association (MCA) is a leading cultural organization serving a state-wide network of 600+ emerging, mid-career and master artist-members, as well as non-member artists, art collectors and the general public by providing educational, enrichment and engagement opportunities throughout the year. The MCA operates two retail galleries and resource centers: The Center for Maine Craft (est. 2008) and Maine Craft Portland (est. July 2018). Both venues support artists with income, exposure, education and programming. MCA offers two major events connecting artists with the public: Portland Fine Craft Show and Maine Craft Weekend. MCA’s two major educational programs are the Craft Apprentice Program and Workshop Weekend at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. MCA offers other marketing, educational, networking and community building initiatives, workshops, Master awards and more throughout the year, often in partnership with other institutions.
